Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and driven Personal Injury Attorney to join our busy and growing personal injury law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 0–3 years of experience who is interested in learning all aspects of personal injury litigation. The attorney will gain hands-on experience handling cases from initial client intake through settlement or verdict, with mentorship and on-the-job training provided.
The ideal candidate is eager to develop litigation skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and passionate about advocating for injured clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial client consultations and case evaluations.
- Manage personal injury cases from intake through resolution or trial.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and responses.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case updates.
- Attend depositions, mediations, court conferences, and hearings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witnesses, and case materials.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
- Review medical records, accident reports, and other evidence.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals, case managers, and support staff.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in New York (or pending admission).
- 0–3 years of legal experience (personal injury experience is a plus but not required).
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
